This privacy policy explains what information Garden Voila (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit gardenvoila.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and clear.
The short version
- You can use every calculator, planner and article without creating an account or giving us any personal information.
- Plans you make in our planners are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner.
- If you contact us, we use your name and email address only to reply.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, you give us your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. This is sent to us by email so that we can read and reply to it.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to see which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site, and how the site performs. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring website. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. We use Google Consent Mode: until you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner, Google Analytics does not set analytics cookies on your device and may send only limited, cookieless measurement signals. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider and security software record technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- Email and subscription tools. The site loads a script from Hostinger Reach, an email marketing service provided by our hosting company, which powers any newsletter or subscription forms. If you subscribe to a mailing list, your email address is stored by that service so we can send you the emails you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.
Information stored only in your browser
Our garden planners save your plans in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This information is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. You can delete saved plans at any time from the garden planner page, or by clearing your browser’s site data. Our accessibility tools may also remember your display preferences on your device.
How we use information
- To provide and improve the website, tools and articles.
- To understand which content is useful, using aggregate analytics.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To send newsletters or updates, only if you have chosen to subscribe.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse.
Cookies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies. Our cookie policy explains which ones are used and how to control them.
Sharing information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider, our analytics provider (Google) and our email service, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the security of the site and its users.
How long we keep information
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Server and security logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes.
